long weekend in Chicago

We spent the past weekend in Chicago hanging out and visiting some people. On Friday we saw some girls from our church who are at North Park now and hung out with some friends , Joe and Sara and their cute daughter Abby (we forgot to take any pics though). The rest of the weekend was spent with Mike's family...Aunt Kathy, her fiance Dennis, and cousins Troy, Katie (Troy's wife), and Blake. We ended up staying an extra day because of the weather, but still had a great time.

5 months old!

I like to take pictures at each of her month birthdays. She humors me...besides the fact that she LOVES the camera. We can hardly believe she's already 5 months old. Where has the time gone!

I've watched Sophie have so much fun in one of these at daycare so I finally decided to get one. It was well worth it because she just loves it. It's so fun to watch her play in it.

this weekend we went up to our friend Janna's parents' house in Brainerd with our Integrate group. We had a great time just hanging out, talking, eating, and watching Sophie and Bjorn. These are just a few of the pictures from the weekend. I could probably fill a whole page with them but I tried to pick and choose!

For those of you that have known the Sophie has been sick for a couple of months now, we thought you might want to know what's going on. For those of you who didn't know, Sophie has had cold-like symptoms for the past couple of months now. We think she truly had a cold in the beginning, but the cough and congestion hasn't gone away and in fact gotten worse lately. Anyway, we went back to the doctor again yesterday. He thinks she probably has acid reflux, which when he told me the symptoms she has a lot of them. We just never connected some of them with the cold stuff. So now she has started taking Zantac, which I must admit kind of makes me laugh. She seems too little to be taking such a grown up medicine, but hopefully it will work. We started it last night and she slept so much better. However, today has been full of coughing and of course another fun night of changing clothes after she eats (: So there's the update. Hopefully this is what's been going on so Sophie can start to feel better (even though you wouldn't know anything was wrong most of the time during the day besides the coughing!

for those of you not living in Minnesota, I thought I'd give you a little update. This morning it is -20 degrees actual temperature with a windchill of -34 degrees. Just a little bit cold out there!
