This weekend we took a quick trip up to the cabin to get away before I go back to work (Thursday!) and Mike leaves for his trip to Israel. It was fast but so fun to get away and just spend some time together and with the kids. It was Jackson's first trip so it was well documented. He did great in the car. We would have made it to the cabin without stopping on the way there if we wouldn't have gotten stuck in traffic. So, about 30 minutes away from the cabin he decided to be hungry and was just screaming. We stopped at a gas station where I quickly changed his diaper and gave him a little snack from his bottle. He made it the rest of the way. On the way home he slept the entire trip home and then for about an hour in his car seat at our house. What a trooper. Sophie also did great...watching Dora (: There are a lot of pictures as I had trouble narrowing them down.

Jackson's first thoughts about the cabin

Sophie did this forever...moving the cribbage pegs in different spots and formations. It was fun to watch her mind work

Sophie and I made cookies for some friends from church who were moving about 20 minutes away from the cabin. Mike was going to help them move in so we decided they should have some sweet treats. This is Sophie's idea of helping.

time to go out and play...there was a lot of snow up there and Sophie LOVED to play in it. She loves her shovel and made a nice little (and I stress LITTLE) dent in the snow. She did not want to come back inside whatsoever.

this silly girl decided she wanted to wear her boots with her pj's (the night before she wore her slippers with them, even though they are footy pajamas). she cracks us up.
